For many pilots, their first paying job is as a flight instructor. When you choose a school to complete your CFI rating, you should choose carefully. Visit all the area schools, and closely evaluate your choices. We recommend that you fly with any schools you may be considering, to see firsthand who will be woking with you to get your CFI rating. Getting your CFI Rating

The CFI rating can be the most intensive and time consuming rating. Though the amount of flight time is not as much as many of the other training phases, getting your CFI rating is unique in the fact that your skills must now include the ability to teach and talk as you fly the manuevers. Learning to do this is paramount to your success as a CFI, and passing your CFI checkride. If you are aspiring to become a flight instructor, start early and talk through all your manuevers as you progress through your commercial. As a student, you are a crucial part of the CRM (Cockpit Resource Management) process, so you should have started talking through all your actions from day one. You will find that this procedure will benefit you whether you are a co-pilot of a large helicopter, or a private pilot flying with friends!
