Boston Helicopter Ground School

North Andover Flight Academy is the only helicopter school in the Boston Massachusetts area which offers a formal helicopter ground school, designed to assist in passing the FAA Private and Instrument written examination. The importance of a formal ground school cannot be overlooked when choosing where to begin your helicopter training. Our classroom is setup with the latest in presentation equipment and is taught from our own syllabus, which is also the basis of our Part 141 ground training curriculum (our groundschool is offered as Part 61 and 141). Our classes run on a 12 week schedule, meeting once weekly, and missed lessons can be covered at no extra charge. These classes are open to all interested individuals, and can be combined with flight training, though you do not need to be enrolled as a flight student to attend.

Our ground instructors are also experienced flight instructors who can tie many classroom discussions directly to the flight training environment. Ground school really is the best way to learn the necessary materials, and it helps to save money. With our maintenance facility and hangar just steps from our classroom, our presentation materials are supplemented with hands on learning. Our mechanics are also available for questions during the classroom presentations, and students are encouraged to observe the maintenance facility at any time.
